Angenieux 45-120mm Optimo Short Zoom

Filmscape are excited to announce the receipt of the first of Angenieux’s new 45-120 short zooms. Complimenting the staple 15-40mm and 28-76mm lenses, the 45-120 is small, lightweight and fast at t2.8. This versatile lens is available immediately.

Cooke i/Panchro Prime Lens Set Uncoated/Coated

The Cooke i/Panchros are a smaller, lighter set of primes that compliment Cooke’s S4 range of lenses. Slightly slower at t2.8, the panchros offer the ‘Cooke look’ with a lower cost and lighter weight option. They are also uniquely available with uncoated front elements, giving a very flared effect similar to other vintage uncoated lenses without the troublesome housing. Available in 18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm all T2.8.

More Canon C300s!

After receiving some of the first Canon C300s last month, their popularity has encouraged us to take delivery of a few more! The versatile EF mount cameras shoot at 50mb/s 1080p to CF cards, and are a popular option for broadcast and documentary shoots.

Filmscape stock a range of EF primes and lenses, including Zeiss Compact Prime sets and L Series zooms ranging from 16mm to 200mm.

Filmscape have taken delivery of one of the UKs first F65 units. Sony’s flagship 4k camera provides a versatile alternative … Read More

Filmscape have taken delivery of one of the UKs first F65 units. Sony’s flagship 4k camera provides a versatile alternative to the Arri Alexa and RED Epic, and with some incredibly impressive specs and advantages over both, provides some healthy competition.

The F65 has one of the most advanced sensors available, with 13 stops of dynamic range and an 8k sensor debayered to 4k 16GB/s RAW. It features onboard recording to up to 1TB SSD drives, rotary shutter as standard to eliminate the aliasing problems of it’s rivals and built in IRND filters.

No camera available has as varied a range of formats as the F65. For the biggest budgets it features the highest quality RAW recording to it’s onboard SR Memory cards. For anything else, the camera can be set to record a huge variety of formats right down to SRLite 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, giving productions a Prores equivalent to fit into their existing Alexa workflows.

Sony have partnered with all major post production software providers including Avid, Apple Quicktime, Scratch Lab and Yo Yotta to ensure that your workflow is in already in place. Virtually any existing Alexa workflow will work seamlessly with the F65, including the use of Cinedecks and Ki Pro external recorders if that’s what you need. There are a variety of possibilities in terms of format, and one of our technicians would be happy to talk you through it.

Call us today for a demo or an enquiry, F65s are available from mid February.

Keanu Reeves’ latest feature Ronin 47 is currently filming on Arri Alexas in and around the South East, and with important promotional material needing to be shot discreetly alongside the main unit meant DOP Trevor Forrest chose the Epic-M from Filmscape Media as a small, high quality way of capturing the action without slowing it down.

Whilst still early days for the Epic-M in terms of availability, many UK based features have already adopted it quickly for it’s size and incredible images, most notable ‘Jack the Giant Killer’, ‘Total Recall’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus.’

This week Filmscape has seen the new arrival of a large batch of new cameras, most importantly the new Epic-M … Read More

This week Filmscape has seen the new arrival of a large batch of new cameras, most importantly the new Epic-M cameras from RED Digital Cinema.

With two of the first units in the country, these ground breaking cameras can shoot up to 300fps, output up to 5K resolution and can shoot up to 100fps at 5K. On top of that the unit itself can be stripped back into a fully self-sufficient body, with on small board batteries and solid-state recording.

On top of that, two more Arri Alexas and an Alexa Plus have all arrived and the cameras so no sign of slowing down. Filmscape have supplied dozens of productions these past couple of months on the Alexa including Sket, Cocknets vs Zombies, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret and documentary series Stephen Hawking’s Universe.

They prove to be more and more popular as a robust, high quality and relatively affordable way of shooting almost any kind of production.

Last but not least, four more Sony PMW-F3s have arrived just in time for Pulse Films’ coverage of the ITunes Festival in Camden filming coverage and interviews for bands and artists such as Adele, Manic Street Preachers, Paul Simon, Arctic Monkeys, Beady Eye, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Chase and Status and Moby.
